When I was mentally sketching out this post, I wanted a play on "octopus" because my mini
tripod looks like an octopus. I thought to call it a "tripus" then remembered that Greeks say "octopodi," so I thought "tripod." Then I realized that's already what it's called. Do you still get credit for creativity long after something is invented? A friend and I were talking about To Kill A Mockingbird one day and I mentioned that a Tequila Mockingbird would be a cool drink. I was quickly assured that about 5 minutes after the book came out, some bartender somewhere was already shaking one up. I maintain that it was an original thought and I take full credit for it.
Anyway, after much fumbling trying to a) do things with one hand, and b) try to keep my camera steady with the other hand while doing things with one hand, I found this nifty little fellow. It can stand on just about any surface, but it does its best work for me as an overhead!
