My eye-opening experience with garment construction.

Updated: Nov 28, 2019

My baby lock saved the day. No more holes for this top!

How many of you have gotten rid of a garment with holes? I had the unfortunate experience of experiencing a hole in the underarm of my knit top and, as I had recently gotten a serger, decided to mend it myself. Look at my stitches, the darker ones on the left, compared to the factory stitches on the right. No wonder I got holes! Sure, the factory wants to use the least amount of resources, but does thread really break the bank??? From now on I check my knit seams and run my serger around them if they look flimsy like this one. This was a GAP shirt, so I'm not sure how well those items are made, but you'd think they'd be sturdier than this!
