Why, yes, I did knit a model of the digestive system for my students.

Updated: Nov 28, 2019

I sure did! You can see my finished product here along with a photo of the original pattern. If you look closely, you'll see mine is missing the liver. The liver is currently residing in a UFO (Un-Finished Object) bag in my bedroom. I keep meaning to finish it, but it has a lot of W&T (wrap and turns) and I keep forgetting where I was and have to start over.

I made this with yarn I had on hand, and I highly recommend this project as a stash buster. The site domain is no longer around, but if you search online, you may be rewarded with the pattern somewhere.

I liked that this is knit in one piece. I mean, really, who would want to sew all those pieces together. And, yes, I knit all 23 feet of the small intestine. That was actually the easiest part because there was no pattern to keep track of. Give it a try, your students will adore you forever!
